1st XI Win First Division for the third consecutive season

Congratulation to Balders and 1st XI on winning the First Division title for the third consecutive season.
2nd XI in a cliff hanger won by 1 run against Kemsing, so with the last game of the season next Saturday against Ightham at home the winner gets promoted to Division 2.
Agony for 3rd XI who looked to be winning against Southborough but managed only lose by 4 runs, it needs a miracle to avoid relegation.
The 4th XI continue their winning ways under stand-in skipper Aussie Rick.

Golf Day amongst other highlights

BCC golf day at Sweetwoods was a great success thanks to Rodger Poulsom and Chris Wallington.  Some record scores on the day, so many prizes and a fixture for next year.
On the cricket front, the clubs future assured with Under 11 and 15 winning their respective Invicta Leagues. Another good day on Saturday 17th. 1st XI extend their lead at top with 3 games to go. Outwood failing for the second week running! The 2nd XI in contention for promotion….Good win for 4th’s……The only cloud in the sky is that the 3rd XI is in the relegation zone.

Chairman’s Blog, August Week 2

Two  weeks ago Outwood our closest rivals completed, because of the weather, the only game out of 37 matches to overtake us at the top of Division 1. Meaning we cannot have any further slip-ups during the rest of season. So when Shipbourne were bowled out for 111, it all looked rather easy. But it changed very quickly with 6 wickets falling for 54… step forward Stu Pinchin on his first game of the season, to the rescue, enabling us to win by 3 wickets. Additional  good news Outwood lost so we are now top by 8.
Despite the outcome it seemed almost every regular player was on holiday, yet we still managed to field 4 sides with 3 winning.
In the 2nd XI, a remarkable achievement with an opening stand of 137 with Harry Dix -Perkins and Miga Steyn . Harry finished with 116 out of 283-5 ensuring a win by 58. Another of our young players Mark Mingard in the 4th XI reached 106.
We are producing some very good players long may it continue.

My target was the 1st XI to remain unbeaten over the season. Unfortunately we lost to Outwood so now no more defeats.
